Howdy,
Been trying to log into zbp using gizmo for a while now and get as far as the ding that says I'm connected, then nothing. No Trem, no welcome voice, nada. All I get is white noise. So question is, gizmo problem? Or does zbp need a clout? grin.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Cheers,
simon_c
simon i use sj phone so don't know about your particular sip program. but sj phone works just fine for me. i have used it a few times in the past few days.
thanks pipi. hmm yeah, i'm beginning to think there's something wrong with my particular sip device, although god only knows what, as it worked previously. ah well. i'll keep plugging away.
I'm having a similar issue, and I'm using SJPhone. Must be our particular connections.
I have tried to use sip phone and sj phone, but neither of those work for me. If I want to go on zone by phone, I just pick up the phone or go on skype.
yeah, well i don't really want to use skype credit for it, and my phone sounds like shit on there. np though, i can deal without it. smile, the way i understand it though, (which could be totally wrong), is that sip is a protocol, like ftp or http. so sj phone, gizmo etc, are all sip phones. as i say, gizmo usually works for me, but not any more lol.
I just tried sjphone, and cannot connect to ZBP. I can, however, connect to echo@gizmoproject.com, and hear myself. What gives?
Same he re, I downloaded teh sj phone last week and I have not been able ot log in to zone by thone, my partner tried to help me also. Someone mentioned ports to me but i@m confused, how, to I set that up? I also get a thing about jabber and a jabber id? is that for this as well? just a bit confused.
same as wx1g. I only hear beep tone when I call to zbp.
I thought I would point out that on a wireless connection or basically anyhthing remotely slow, you'r egoing to have major sip issues. I personally can't connect using sip because I have a wireless connection. Sip requires a lot more connection speed and wireless just can't support it. It is somewhat misleading because I can get up to 400 kbps or more when downlodaing files. My rogers connection speed is 8.0/800, but my wireless is just slow and delayed. Even skype doesn't work properly on it. So for anyone who can't connect, it coulde very well be an issue with the program you use, I wouldn't know. But consider the fact that if you're on wireless, it probably won't work either.
Wireless has high latency, so...
Yeah, figures. The only VOIP programs that I use that work on it are teamtalk and ventrilo.
